Q Social Media is becoming QSM Digital – evolving alongside digital marketing
After 15 years of helping businesses make digital marketing work for them, Q Social Media is entering a new chapter. We’re rebranding as QSM Digital, a name that better reflects what we do today and, importantly, where we are heading next.
The name Q Social Media has been with us since the beginning, when social media was becoming an increasingly important part of how businesses communicated with their customers. But digital marketing has changed considerably since then, and so have we. Our work today is now much more focused on managing Google Ads, Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) and search engine optimisation (SEO) for businesses across the UK.
Where it all started
When Q Social Media was first established, we ran social media training courses and provided consultancy, helping business owners and their teams get to grips with platforms such as Facebook, Twitter (now X) and LinkedIn, as well as other areas including SEO, Google Ads and Google Analytics.
The management side of the business grew organically from this. Businesses that attended our training courses would often come back to us asking if we could help with some of the work we had been showing them how to do. They might have understood the strategy but simply did not have the time to manage their social media, advertising and other digital marketing activities themselves.
As more clients began asking us to take on these activities, outsourced digital marketing management became a much bigger part of our business. That shift was driven by what our clients needed. Rather than simply teaching business owners how to run their digital marketing, we began managing their campaigns, monitoring results, making changes and helping them get more from their online marketing budgets.
From social media training to hands on digital marketing management
Over time, the management side of the business continued to expand. In particular, Google Ads and Meta Ads became a major part of what we do, alongside our growing expertise in SEO management.
This is now where much of our teams’ skills and day to day work are focused. We work collaboratively with our clients to understand their business and goals and manage and optimise campaigns, analyse performance and look for opportunities to improve results.
For our clients, this means having experienced digital marketing specialists managing important parts of their online marketing without needing to bring all of that expertise in house.
Our current digital marketing management services include:
- Google Ads management across different campaign types
- Meta Ads management for Facebook and Instagram
- Ongoing campaign optimisation and performance monitoring
- SEO management to improve organic visibility
- Reporting and analysis to understand what is working
- Digital marketing strategy and advice
- Support for ecommerce, hospitality, B2B, and other businesses looking to increase online sales, enquiries and website traffic
- And more recently, SEO for AI search
This focus is also reflected in the way we work. Digital advertising platforms are constantly changing, and successful campaigns need regular attention. Google and Meta are continually introducing new features, targeting options and automation, while search itself is changing as users increasingly interact with AI powered search tools. That makes ongoing expert management more important than ever.
Digital marketing is constantly changing
One of the reasons we have always enjoyed working in digital marketing is that it never stands still.
The techniques we were teaching businesses when Q Social Media first started are very different from the techniques we use today. Search has evolved, social online advertising has become considerably more sophisticated and platforms now use increasing levels of automation and machine learning to determine who sees advertising and which Ads are likely to perform. One thing that has always stayed the same though, and it’s something that we pride ourselves on, is that underneath all the changes to digital marketing, the new AI tools that are constantly evolving, what people want to see, and what stands out online is meaningful, quality and trustworthy content.
It may be tempting, with the increasing number of AI powered advertising tools available, to think that campaigns can simply be set up and left to run. In reality, the opposite is true. While these tools can be incredibly effective, successful campaigns still require ongoing monitoring, analysis and optimisation, alongside the human insight needed to understand what is working and where changes need to be made.
The way people search for information is changing too. Google remains hugely important, however businesses can no longer think about search solely in terms of traditional organic search results and rankings. AI is becoming increasingly integrated into search, with tools and features providing users with more direct answers and recommendations.
This is creating new opportunities, and it also means businesses need to think carefully about how their websites and content can be discovered and understood by these systems. And that’s where our expertise comes in. We find that businesses simply do not have the time to keep on top of these changes and come to us, so that they can focus on running their business.
Helping businesses adapt to AI search
More recently, we have started helping clients with AI SEO and the growing area of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
The objective is not simply to chase another ranking position. It is about making sure a business has useful, relevant and well-structured information online, that can be understood by search engines and AI systems. As search behaviour continues to evolve, we expect this to become an increasingly important part of digital marketing.
We have already been writing about the changes taking place, including how businesses can improve their chances of being found through AI search. Our approach is to look at these developments alongside traditional SEO rather than treating them as completely separate activities.
After all, the fundamentals still matter. Businesses need useful, knowledgeable content, a technically sound, easy to navigate website, relevant information and a clear understanding of what their customers are looking for. What is changing is how that information is discovered, interpreted and presented.
Why QSM Digital?
The move to QSM Digital is therefore about much more than changing our name.
It reflects how the business has evolved from providing social media training and consultancy into a specialist digital marketing management business. Our focus today is on helping clients manage the channels that can make a measurable difference to their online visibility, website traffic, enquiries and sales.
It also gives us a name that better represents the breadth of the work we undertake. We’re still the same team, with the same focus on collaborative client relationships, providing practical, results driven digital marketing support. What has changed is the balance of what we do and the digital landscape in which we operate.
As QSM Digital, we’ll continue to focus on the areas where we can provide the most value to our clients, from Google Ads and Meta Ads to SEO and the emerging opportunities around AI search.
Continuing to evolve
Digital marketing has changed enormously since Q Social Media first began, and we have changed with it. The decision to rebrand as QSM Digital is a natural next step in that journey. It reflects what our clients already know us for and gives us a name that better represents the services we provide today.
We’re proud of where Q Social Media started, and we’re equally excited about where QSM Digital is heading. If you’re looking for support managing your Google Ads, Meta Ads or SEO, please get in touch with our team at QSM Digital.
